Ships Division, within Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, is seeking a highly professional, motivated and experienced self-starter to provide ongoing project cost estimation and analysis support to Commonwealth Government's Naval shipbuilding projects.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to be involved in providing support to a number of Acquisition Projects, such as, Future Frigates, Offshore Patrol Vessels, Replenishment Ships, Pacific Patrol Boats and Capability Upgrade projects.

Ships Division is seeking applicants with demonstrated project cost estimation and analysis experience, particularly those with experience in and comprehensive knowledge of whole of life cycle estimation of capabilities, materiel systems and assets in support of large, complex equipment and materiel systems. Project experience would also be advantageous. The applicant must have sound knowledge in cost estimating techniques and tools to support projects throughout different capability life cycles. Experience in obtaining costing information from a variety of stakeholders, developing, validating and managing of cost and schedule estimates is required.

Employment will be offered on an ongoing (permanent) or non-ongoing (temporary) basis.

Employment offered on a non-ongoing (temporary) basis may become ongoing (permanent) at the completion of the non-ongoing contract. Initial contract period will be up to 12 months with the possibility of extension.
