Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive local government organisation committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. We are currently seeking a dynamic and self-driven Engineering Technical Officer to join the Technical Services team.

The role of Engineering Technical Officer requires a dedicated individual with experience in preparing simple CAD drawings to manage modifications to public land associated with new developments. These works are developer or customer funded and could include driveways, footpaths, minor drainage works, kerb and gutter projects or other minor civil works.

The role is also responsible for organising, producing and issuing quotations for works to residents and developers, and supervising works by Council contractors, and works undertaken by developers.

To be considered for this position you will need to possess the following essential criteria:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering and/or equivalent experience
• C Class driver’s licence
• Experience in the use of survey equipment
• Knowledge and experience in the use of computer aided design packages (CAD)
• Knowledge and experience in engineering design principles
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Officer or similar computer applications
• Experience in contractor management and administration
• Proven ability to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to negotiate and liaise effectively with residents and developers.
