About the Role

Join the ABC’s Cloud Shared Services team in supporting, developing and maintaining our AWS platform. The Cloud Shared services team is responsible for providing a flexible and secured AWS platform for use by ABC’s technology teams. In this role you will experience working with  a diverse group of teams and products including ABC’s Content Archives, Digital Product and Enterprise Applications teams.

As part of the role you will assist teams in the development and deployment of new & existing systems as well as modernising systems as they are migrated to the cloud. Keeping up to date with the latest AWS technologies you will provide guidance to teams to ensure their systems are deployed to best practices.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in a specialised area and to learn new skills quickly in a broad range of areas. Showcasing your specialised technical skills, you have the chance to improve existing processes and contribute to projects in a meaningful way. 

The role will include;

  • Supporting and developing the organizations cloud platform using highly advanced automation skills.
  • Improving system reliability, quality and security through monitoring, reporting and fault resolution on supported platforms.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of new cloud hosted applications

About You

If you're considering a new challenge, this is your opportunity! You are a quick learner and have experience administering and automating tasks with a variety of applications and operating systems

What sets you apart is your ability to investigate, analyse and solve very complex technical problems; and you can communicate with a range of staff with differing levels of expertise. 

You will also have experience in the following: 

  • Programming and scripting in common languages such as Python, Bash and Node.js
  • Administering Linux and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
  • Deploying and managing a variety Amazon Web Services (AWS) services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, RDS and VPC’s.
  • Managing and developing automated CI/CD systems. Experience with Bitbucket, Bamboo and CloudFormation is desirable.
  • Managing common third-party Cloud management tools such as Datadog and Splunk
