What you’ll do:

  • Monitor and Investigate project, program and portfolio performance, including interdependencies and coordination across projects, advise on emerging portfolio or program level risks and opportunities and provide project recovery advice as required.
  • Establish and operate the Assets Project Management Office including supporting continuous uplift in portfolio and project management maturity and project control.
  • Develop, maintain and operationalise the frameworks, policies, systems, business rules, standards, tools and templates for the planning, development and delivery of the portfolio including supporting operational areas.
  • Maintain and manage a prioritised list of future activities that drive process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Provide advice, training and coaching in the use of all PMO tools, templates and systems.
  • Provide information, analysis, insights, and recommendations to enable evidence-based decision making;
  • Collect the necessary data to inform decision makers if projects are failing to meet outcomes and objectives and provide advice on possible rectification activities

What we are looking for:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline or engineering and post graduate qualifications or equivalent experience in program / project management.
  • Extensive experience in similar PMO roles covering portfolios of work
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading a PMO function in an organisation of the size and nature of WaterNSW with demonstrable improvement in project delivery performance.
  • Evidence of experience in reviewing project performance, providing advice, support and guidance on distressed projects  
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully designing and establishing a PMO function.  
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written with a capacity to interpret and prepare complex reports, correspondence and presentations
  • Extremely proficient with excel, word, MS project and PowerPoint
  • Extensive knowledge of Project Management Methodologies
  • Current NSW driver’s licence.
