Central Coast Council is the third largest water utility (or water and sewage service) in NSW servicing 139,000 homes and businesses in a growing region.

In this newly created role, you will lead a team of project delivery and contract professionals with responsibility for the establishment and management of operational projects and contracts.

You will be a strong communicator, building effective relationships with key stakeholders to provide expert advice and guidance to support operational and maintenance teams in delivering cost effective services to our customers. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • lead, motivate and support a team of project delivery and contracts staff, creating an environment that promotes high performance, collaboration, staff development, and succession planning
  • support operations and maintenance teams in delivering value for money services to our customers while meeting regulatory requirements
  • collaborate with internal stakeholders to compile contracts around their requirements
  • collaborate with Council’s procurement team responsible for tendering and contract award
  • develop and implement policies and procedures associated with improved contract management and administration to ensure services provided meet Council’s corporate objectives
  • proactively lead and manage operational projects, ongoing operational contracts, goods and services and service provider procurement processes, engagements and ongoing performance and disputes resolution.

About you:

  • You may have formal qualifications in Business Management, Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • You have experience within contract and project management
  • You will bring exposure to capital works and operational project procurement
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise, while also learning from others

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $92.1k to $110.5k per annum dependent on skills and experience + 10.5% superannuation. 

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $165 per week ($8,580 per annum) is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
