Aurecon’s Environment and Planning team have a strong capability from project planning and feasibility to construction on a wide range of projects across both Queensland and Australia. You will play an integral part in a team that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across the built environment, transport, land and water, energy and government sectors.

Our current committed and projected workload provides a unique and specific opportunity for a Senior Contaminated Land Consultant, Scientist or Engineer to join the team in our Brisbane or Mackay office. The role offers diverse, interesting and challenging work with the opportunity to make your mark in a consulting environment.

Here are the key things you will do:

  • Coordinate field programs including premobilisation and safety planning.
  • Develop Sampling and Analysis Quality Plans.
  • Lead fieldwork campaigns including soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, supervision of drilling, test pitting and groundwater well installation.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to graduate team members.
  • Provide high quality analysis and reporting, to ASC NEPM requirements.
  • Develop reports to exceptional technical and editorial standard and the work collaboratively with the team to meet client expectations.
  • Proposal and project management support to the contaminated land team.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Degree in environmental engineering or science disciplines.
  • Relevant experience in undertaking contaminated land and/or groundwater investigations.
  • A strong professional work ethic and commitment to health and safety for yourself, your team, subcontractors and clients
  • Understanding of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and National Environment Protection Measures and other current and emerging Queensland legislation, standards and guidelines for contaminated land.
  • A desire to deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Australian citizenship, or ability to obtain citizenship in future.
  • Australian Defence baseline security clearance, or ability to obtain clearance.
  • Current driver’s license.
