Leighton Contractors has won the contract by Bechtel to construct the $84 million Australian Pacific LNG 2600-bed temporary workers accommodation village at Curtis Island.

 

The village will serve the accommodation needs of workers at the Queensland’s Gladstone LNG project.

 

Leighton Contractors’ project team has commenced mobilisation to start construction on the greenfield site which will house a fully-equipped accommodation village as well as landscaping and leisure facilities. Leighton Contractors will also construct roads, services and other infrastructure to support the facility. 

 

Darren Weir, General Manager of Leighton Contractors Northern Region, said the project team looks forward to working closely with Bechtel to deliver this vital infrastructure.
