About the role:

As Systems Operations Manager, you will lead the operation of our network, along with managing the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), delivering commissioning services, and providing network emergency management structure and response.

We are looking for a strong communicator with proven leadership skills in managing a high performing and critical team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and actively maintain the integrity of the network through effective management and control of switching and coordination of outages.
  • Minimise disruption to network operations by coordinating a fast and effective response to emergencies.
  • Actively manage the network through the energy transition.
  • Ensure effective dispatch of fault personnel to minimise customer impact.
  • Manage the real time ADMS system, develop and embedded advanced function capabilities.
  • Contribute and implement an agreed strategy ensuring adherence to regulatory and strategic targets for reliability for the Control Room’s span of influence.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure a safe and reliable switching operation for emergency and planned activities.
  • Manage the standard of geographic, schematic, symbology and equipment data used for operational purposes.
  • Provide commissioning service to Control, Project and Network Service to support asset acceptance standards.
  • Provide Electricity Network emergency management guidance, structure and response.
  • Build the capability of your section aligned to strategic objectives.

 

About you

  • Qualifications in Electrical Engineering (Desirable)
  • Demonstrated high level business and financial acumen (Qualifications in Business or Commerce desirable)
  • Experience and understanding in the operation and maintenance of electricity network infrastructure, operational information and control systems and field operations.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to develop long term operational and strategic plans.  
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and manage a high performing and critical team, with experience in team culture transformation.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including well-developed negotiation and presentation skills and advanced report writing skills.
  • In depth understanding of trends and changes impacting the utility industry.
