About the role

Aqua Metro is seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager (Mechanical) to join our team . In this full-time position, you will play a key role in managing and delivering critical projects within the water industry. Your expertise in mechanical engineering and project management will be instrumental in ensuring the successful completion of these vital projects.

What you'll be doing

• Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects in the water industry
• Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and timelines
• Manage project risks, identify and mitigate potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team, ensuring the adherence to industry standards and best practices
• Prepare and present progress reports, performance metrics, and project documentation to management and clients
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and procedures
• Ensure all delivery personnel are clear on their S&E accountabilities and meet them
• Manage Project forecasting and accruals
• Develop project budget during concept or tender phase
• Timely management of Variations and EOTs
• Timely completion of cost tracking
• Project Planning of all aspects of a project from procurement, contracts, scheduling, resourcing (internal and external) required to meet project objectives
• Programming of upcoming works with the focus on achieving deadlines in line with project deliverables
• Programming concentrating on 4 to 12 week timeframe and assisting delivery in month timeframe with supervisors and Engineers
• Ensure Quality systems are in place and adhered by Operations Team
• Ensure project documentation are kept up-to-date and compiled as part of the project completion to be delivered to the client on-time.
• Upholding Management Plans, Policies and Procedures
• Upholding the delegation of authorities are established and followed
• Understanding and fulfilling governing contracts KRA requirements
• Identifying opportunities for sustainable and social procurement in the planning and tendering of projects

What we're looking for

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the water industry
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical engineering, including design, installation, and maintenance of water infrastructure
• Proficient in project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, codes, and standards
