About the opportunity

In response to growing demand and BMT's ambition for continued growth, we have multiple exciting opportunities for experienced Environmental Consultants who will assist in the delivery of our portfolio of projects to our key clients. These roles provide what we think is the perfect blend of face-to-face client and industry contact, the application of technical proficiency to varied project work and building or strengthening project management and technical capabilities.

About You

We are specifically looking for individuals with:

• At least 5 years relevant work experience
• A marine science or engineering background, with experience working on environmental issues related to coastal or marine infrastructure development.
• Project management skills coupled with aligned skills in oral / written communication, time
• management and commercial acumen
• An understanding of and experience with Australian environmental approvals processes, i.e., under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA), Environment Protection Biodiversity and Conservation Act 1999 (Cwlth) and/or Environment Protection (Sea Dumping) Act 1981 (Cwlth).
• An understanding of marine and/or coastal issues and their management
• Experience in preparation / presentation / review of proposals
• Experience working in the field including remote locations
• The ability to coach and mentor our graduates
• Right to work in Australia with no restrictions.

The following are desirable:

• Meaningful direct experience in environmental impact assessment (EIA) within energy,
• ports/harbours, and/or aquaculture sectors
• Strong skills in water and sediment quality assessment
• Experience with spatial analysis software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper)
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
