As a messaging Engineer, you will be a critical member of the team responsible for managing and maintaining our company's intricate messaging environment. Your technical experience in Exchange on-prem and Exchange online will be instrumental in establishing and enforcing standards for our systems, ensuring that support teams comply with these guidelines and deliver optimal performance.

You will take ownership of ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and best practice management of these systems. Your hands-on support and technical guidance to the team will help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our messaging infrastructure. Your existing expertise in these areas will be leveraged to ensure the systems operate at peak performance.

Your duties will include:

• Manage implementation of technical deliverables of DSE aligned projects
• Manage lifecycle management and service improvement activities across all messaging services
• Deliver and develop the capabilities of the team in the messaging environment
• Managing and maintaining the Exchange environment, including creating and managing mailboxes, distribution lists, and public folders.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Exchange Server issues, such as mail flow, connectivity, and message delivery problems.
• Configuring and managing Exchange Online in a hybrid environment with on-premises Exchange Server.

Location: All CSIRO Sites (except Geelong)
Salary: AU$89,680k - AU$101,459k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

Essential:

1. 3+ years experience supporting and implementing the technologies at an enterprise scale. CSIRO operate the technologies below:
   1. Microsoft Exchange
   2. Microsoft Exchange Online Protection
   3. PowerShell scripting and automation languages
2. Demonstrated experience utilising automation for maintaining and administering the above technologies.   
3. Demonstrated ability in providing technical advice to the team, clients and management.
4. Demonstrated ability in coaching and mentoring of junior staff. 

Desirable:

1. 3+ years experience supporting and implementing the technologies at an enterprise scale. CSIRO operate the technologies below:
   1. Cisco Email Security
   2. Windows and Linux Server Maintenance
