About the role:

The Modern Workplace Engineer designs, implements, and supports enterprise solutions on the Microsoft 365 platform. Responsibilities include training staff and optimizing the use of SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. You will guide our strategic direction, offering insights on leveraging new technologies to enhance user satisfaction.

In this role, you’ll be:

• working in cross-functional teams and developing strong working relationships with colleagues and other areas of the business.
• reviewing potential infrastructure or security implications of work that is being undertaken and consciously applying this knowledge to the design of a solution.
• assisting in the prevention of recurring issues and incidents, and where prevention is impossible, minimize their impact.
• responding promptly to tickets in our system, collaborating with support teams as needed to ensure a customer-focused support experience
• coordinating and developing essential training and support to enable users to effectively use the Microsoft 365 platform, including Alinta Energy’s Intranet, Microsoft Teams, file collaboration tools (SharePoint/OneDrive), and other solutions built on the platform.

Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:

• proven expertise with Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and Teams, leveraging native functionalities. Skilled in identifying gaps and evaluating the trade-offs of maintenance and support against the benefits of further customization.
• solid experience in working with core SharePoint capabilities including lists and libraries and how they can be customised
• highly skilled in communicating with users, identifying business requirements through discussions, and developing well-thought-out and carefully considered solutions
• experience managing growth and implementing governance strategies for file collaboration across OneDrive and SharePoint
• experience working with development APIs across the platform including the Graph API and SharePoint (desirable)
