The opportunity:

As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end design delivery for Powerlink's network projects. You'll play a central role in ensuring the successful integration of designs across multiple disciplines, managing risks, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will also:

• Manage the delivery of designs for large-scale, simultaneous projects. Oversee scoping, scheduling, reporting, risk management, quality, cost control, and teamwork.
• Develop and execute detailed design plans from conception to project closeout, ensuring timely and high-quality design solutions.
• Proactively manage design interfaces across all disciplines (Substations, Transmission Lines, Secondary, Telecommunications Systems) and with internal/external resources, contractors, and customers.
• Serve as the key point of contact for all project design technical matters, coordinating advice from subject matter experts as needed.
• Lead and mentor Design Delivery Coordinators and collaborate with other Design Managers to optimise project outcomes.

What you'll bring:

• Degree qualification in Engineering or lesser qualification with extensive knowledge and experience in design of  high voltage substations, transmission lines or telecommunications technologies
• Demonstrated ability to manage large infrastructure projects, including design support services.
• Knowledge of Australian and international design standards (AS, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to manage large infrastructure projects, including design support services.
