If you are a STEM professional who enjoys strategic program management and working collaboratively with others, consider this exciting career opportunity available to you.  In this role you will work collaboratively with strategic partners including industry, academia and international partners. You will provide the Division with high level program support to manage a range of Science & Technology (S&T) activities and projects. In this role you will contribute to a culture of innovation that drives our More Together: Defence Science and Technology Strategy.

The Director S&T Program role (DSTP) requires you to: 

• Plan and manage the division’s complex Science and Technology Programs, coordinating the inputs of these programs into the Defence Science & Technology Group (DSTG) program management system.
• Oversee governance of the program activities, ensuring that all of the program activities are delivered in accordance with Defence policies and procedures.
• Undertake regular analysis of the programs’ finances, risks and deliverables; supporting the Program Leaders to deliver their programs.
• Support the development of program planning practices within the Division and promote best practice in program planning and program management in accordance with relevant Defence policies and procedures.
• As part of the delivery support team, provide relevant guidance and coordination for both strategic and science & technology based activities for the Chief of Division.
• Share your own expertise with others, supervise and mentor staff.

A merit pool will be created from the list of suitable applicants which may be used to fill future positions in the event a position becomes vacant within the 18 months from gazettal date of this position.

About our Team
The DSTP will work closely with the Division’s Senior Executive Team to deliver the Division's S&T program outcomes and report to the Delivery Director.  This role will also lead and mentor a program support team that assist with the delivery of the programs.
