The Role
The Submarine Systems Engineering (SSE) team requires a Technology Manager to undertake analyses of future capabilities and develop and maintain a Capability and Technology Roadmap for Submarines to provide foresight into research areas that could enable future capabilities. This activity will then inform the Submarine Science and Technology Plan.
Technology management requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Royal Australian Navy capability managers, the Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group, and industry.
The Technology Manager’s efforts will be mainly directed at conducting environmental scans of relevant technologies, the development of models or metrics to indicate technologies and research that can be focused on the capability manager’s priorities and shape science and technology planning.
