The Role
In this role you will use cutting edge technology to develop and design software applications in support of our analytical combat simulations. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our combat simulation capability is accessible, automated, robust and prepared to meet future modelling and simulation needs. The role will require you to develop and maintain our combat simulations system to a world class standard and ensure that we maximise its utility to Defence.

As you progress in this position you will shape the development of our data generation architecture and become the leader of a small team of talented software developers. As a leader you will set the standard for the quality of output for your team, empowering your team to succeed in their roles.

About our Team
The analytical nature of our combat simulations differentiates us from gaming simulations. Analytic combat simulations and their associated tools are designed to collect and analyse information from both Human in the Loop and Closed Loop combat applications and use these results to inform decisions on capability acquisition or tactics, techniques and procedures. We maintain a highly automated data generation capability which includes physics and engineering models of battlefield effects, data management and organization software and user interfaces for data manipulation, validation and testing, all of which leverage distributed processing architectures. The system is built as a set of interconnected services using various languages and technologies such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, Play Framework, ActiveMQ and MongoDB, deployed in a containerised environment using Kubernetes and Docker.
