ISREW have a number of EL 1 Engineering Manager roles available to the right applicants. An EL1 Engineering Manager in ISREW will have the opportunity to apply their skills to a highly exciting portfolio of work while leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and maintaining all engineering responsibility for program. 

ISREW Land SPO will deliver the Counter Improved Explosive Device (IED) program including Personal Force Protection Electronic Countermeasures for use by ADF personnel in operational areas.

ISREW AESA SPO manages the introduction of the innovative Active Electronic Scanned Array technology and is the single point of contact for domestic and international arrangements regarding this capability.

ISREW Maritime SPO is delivering modernised enhanced electronic warfare capabilities to the Royal Australian Navy's surface and sub-surface fleets.

About our Team

Within CASG, the Joint Systems Division (JSD) is responsible for acquiring, in many cases integrating and sustaining, command and control systems, deployable network systems, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and electronic warfare systems, communications systems, satellites and wide area surveillance systems and guided weapons and munitions.

Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Electronic Warfare (ISREW) Branch, in JSD acquires, sustains and integrates electronic warfare capabilities into a wide variety of air, land and sea based platforms and systems.

ISREW has a high performing culture and the successful candidates can expect to be challenged in their role and supported by an inclusive and considerate team and leadership group.

The ISREW Systems Program Office’s are comprised of members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together to provide a wide variety of activities undertaken by ISREW.

Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:

  • Skills and experience in Defence systems engineering, ideally with insight into electronic warfare systems.
  • Effective problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
  • An ability to manage a diverse team on complex projects.
  • The capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
  • High-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives.
  • Sound commercial and business acumen and a demonstrated understanding of the Defence Industry sector in Australia.

A minimum security clearance of Negative Vetting 2 is required for these roles, with some requiring a Positive Vetting clearance. For roles requiring a Positive Vetting security clearance, the successful candidate may be able to commence a role with a Negative Vetting 2 clearance, however failure to attain the Positive Vetting security clearance may necessitate a role change.

All candidates that are invited to interview will be required to explain their understanding of the Positive Vetting Security Clearance process.
