The Land Engineering Agency, as part of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, supports various Directorates and Systems Program Offices to ensure successful requirements development, acquisition and in-service support of land materiel. The Agency provides services in engineering, testing, design and development and technical data management. Services are provided across the whole of the Defence Capability Life Cycle.

As a member of the Land Engineering Agency, the Technical Officer - Textiles will have a unique opportunity to be part of an engineering and technical team to deliver Australian Defence Force systems that are at the leading edge of Defence capability.

The APS 3-4 Technical Officer (Textiles) will have a proven ability to perform technical tasks, activities and functions in the field of textiles, clothing and footwear equipment and systems.

About our Team
The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group purchases and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government. Within CASG, the Land Domain acquires and supports designated land systems for the Australian Defence Force.

Our Ideal Candidate
The right person for this role will be a clothing and/or footwear Technician who can provide advice and engage with stakeholders to deliver safe and effective clothing and footwear systems for the Australian Defence Force. The Technician will assure the technical integrity (safety and performance) of the clothing and footwear systems by investigating, reporting and perform clothing and/or footwear assessments that support the Defence capability life cycle.

The Technician will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development, and will be required to undertake straightforward tasks and activities within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and business objectives. They are expected to plan and complete technical activities and tasks, selecting methods and resolving most of the issues that arise. They will be provided with assistance and guidance for the more complex issues.
