Across Defence, the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce plays a key role in providing solutions for the challenges of the future. To meet these STEM workforce requirements, Defence has the opportunity to engage and inspire people to follow a STEM career pathway.

The STEM Outreach Program Manager will work as part of a small and supportive team which coordinates the outreach activities of DST in the education sector and throughout the community. You will develop and leverage existing programs which meet future STEM skilling needs through collaboration with academia, Defence industry, internal and external stakeholders. You will explore innovative approaches to support the STEM outreach and engagement strategy to inspire Australians into pursuing science and technology disciplines and showcase the potential pathways of a STEM career in the Defence eco-system.

We are looking for someone with a flair for project management and events, who will be able communicate with, make presentations to, negotiate and liaise customers with internal and external stakeholders from varied backgrounds and levels. The successful candidate will be able to commit to concurrent project deliverables and demonstrate the flexibility to shifting timeframe requirements. They will be able to bring people together to achieve goals and understand their own journey of self-improvement and professional development.
