The Defence Intelligence Organisation is seeking motivated and technically capable individuals to join our Weapons and Technical Intelligence branch. We are interested in graduates from a wide range of scientific and technical disciplines including engineering (including aerospace, electronic/electrical, mechatronic, telecommunications, avionics, mechanical and maritime) naval design, physics, and mathematics and to fill a number of roles.

As a scientific and technical intelligence analyst, you will conduct complex to very complex research and engineering analysis relating to weapon systems, radars, sensors, platforms and military technologies to support the requirements of future ADF platforms. As a member of a growing scientific and technical intelligence team, you will utilise a variety of intelligence sources and employ various analytical tools and techniques to prepare technical assessments in support of Defence customers.

Drawing on your technical acumen and strong analytical skills, you will be performing stimulating, challenging and rewarding work alongside some of Australia’s brightest and most innovative analysts and engineers.

You will receive extensive training in the science and art of technical and scientific intelligence analysis and have access to a range of fully-funded professional development opportunities.

The Defence Intelligence Organisation also actively supports further postgraduate study through the Defence Studybank Scheme and the Australian Defence Force Academy at UNSW Canberra. In all of DIO’s analytic roles, you will be given the opportunity to advance your subject matter expertise and to develop your intelligence tradecraft skills through an extensive training program and attendance at a wide variety of forums, domestically and internationally.
