The positions will provide the right candidates with the opportunity to gain exposure and experience in a unique and complex acquisition and sustainment environment shaping Australia’s future maritime Defence capability.

Platform Test and Evaluation (T&E) Specialist

As the Platform T&E Specialist, you will perform an important role as part of the Test and Evaluation team within Future Submarine Program with the following key activities, but will not be limited to:

  • Plan, organise, and conduct T&E for the future submarine program.
  • Undertake activities and tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation and testing to achieve agreed priorities and outcomes.
  • Apply technical and professional knowledge and experience to T&E processes across the T&E lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the submarine designer, the Combat System Integrator, and other Department of Defence stakeholders.
  • Build and sustain working relationships within the program office and among external points of contact of the contractor Verification & Validation (V&V) team.
  • Evaluate contactor V&V deliverables to ensure alignment with program T&E objectives.
  • Evaluate the testability of system and subsystem functional specifications
  • Help develop T&E performance measures, evaluation plans, test plans, and participate in the development of the FSP Test & Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP).
  • Participate in the analyses of contractor test results, and evaluate performance of components and systems.
  • Support the development of the materiel assurance and acceptance programme
  • Conduct other tasks as directed by the Commonwealth.

Test and Evaluation (T&E) Planning Specialist

As the T&E Planning Specialist, you will perform an important role as part of the Test and Evaluation team within Future Submarine Program with the following key activities, but will not be limited to:

  • Plan, organise, integrate and deliver T&E planning documentation and for the future submarine program.
  • Undertake coordination tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation and testing.
  • Conduct T&E planning across the T&E lifecycle including T&E schedules, Integrated Process Team deliverables, T&E reports, and test plans.
  • Work closely with the Director and V&V Manager to ensure stakeholder input for all test planning documentation.
  • Build and sustain working relationships within the program office and among all members of the TE& Integrated Project Team (IPT).
  • Synchronise T&E activities to maximise efficiency and optimise the use of data to support evaluations.
  • Help develop T&E performance measures, evaluation plans, test plans, and participate in the development of the FSP Test & Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP).
  • Participate in the analyses of contractor test results, and evaluate performance of components and systems.
  • Support the development of the materiel assurance and acceptance programme
  • Conduct other tasks as directed by the Commonwealth
