You will be joining the small but growing Integrated Sustainability Team. This group of specialists bring skills in energy, climate change mitigation and adaptation, integrated water management, sustainable built environment and the natural environment. Members of this team are recognized as innovative thought leaders bringing global knowledge to local matters.

 

 The opportunity

The Integrated Sustainability Team is looking for a Senior ESD & Sustainable Infrastructure Consultant with experience in Ecological Sustainable Development and the development of sustainable infrastructure. You will be a self-starter who enjoys working closely with clients and technical experts to balance traditional engineering needs with sustainable objectives.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Provide technical advice and support on the ESD performance of the built environment and large infrastructure projects
  • Embed sustainability into the design of infrastructure projects through tools such as the ISCA Rating tool, Green Star, NABERS or other equivalent tools
  • Assess the energy performance and or GHG performance of new and existing infrastructure
  • Assess, identify and collaborate with clients to implement energy efficiency and resource optimisation initiative on working assets
  • Identify further sustainable needs of clients, develop business cases to support implementation, and improve processes to enhance sustainable outcomes for our clients.
  • Undertake data analysis, performance reporting  and troubleshooting where required
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key clients through understanding client drivers, the provision of sound advice and striving to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing key business development opportunities (i.e. existing and new clients) relevant to business services.
  • Build and grow knowledge and expertise in various aspects of sustainability and climate adaptability to stay competitive in the changing needs of the business.

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in developing and embedding sustainability principles and resource policy into procurement, design, development and operation of the built environment and infrastructure lifecycle
  • Experience in using some of the following sustainable infrastructure tools with the willingness and capacity to develop further areas as business needs arise: ISCA rating tool, Green Star, NABERS, NGERS, other relevant tools.
  • Ability to analyse, understand and influence business processes to achieve improved sustainable outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and listening skills with the ability to adapt to varied client needs.
  • Business development experience or a demonstrated willingness and capability to learn and develop this skillset. This will include a variety of tasks from developing tender proposals to working directly with clients, identifying client needs and develop business cases for sustainable projects.
  • A bachelor degree or higher in engineering or science with 7 to 12 year relevant industry experience

Initially you will be working with Australia’s largest government department to help them embed sustainable outcomes into their extensive estate. As such, experience working with government clients is highly desirable. The capacity to obtain a Basic level National Security Clearance is essential for this role. You MUST be an Australian citizen to be eligible for this clearance (dual citizens welcome to apply).

Some interstate travel is required with this role.
