Ships Division, within the Australian Department of Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, is seeking a highly professional, motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Project Director to support the Australian Government's Naval Shipbuilding program. Ships Division is responsible for a diverse range of shipbuilding and capability upgrade projects, the largest and most complex of which is the procurement of Future Frigates for the Royal Australian Navy.

A Project Director at the EL2.2 level is sought, with significant shipbuilding experience, to manage and direct project outcomes, with a vision to establishing an ongoing major warship build program within Australia. EL2.2 level staff in the Department of Defence are expected to lead others and manage teams. Your CV and between 800 and 1000 word statement should make clear the projects you have worked on, their outcomes and your role in their delivery.  It will be important to demonstrate your experience, skills and qualities you will bring to the role. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a strong drive and commitment to achieving the organisation's goals. Candidates who have previously worked in the maritime environment and have managed significant materiel projects are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be required to travel interstate and overseas.
