Work within CDU's new TestLab to help develop research, partnerships and advanced manufacturing processes with defence, uncrewed autonomous systems (UAS) and aerospace industries. 

About the Position
The CDU-RMIT Industry 4.0 TestLab is a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility designed to improve the competitiveness of Australia's defence and aerospace industries. The TestLab is part of the Commonwealth Governments Industry 4.0 Testlabs pilot program, established to provide a physical space for businesses and researchers to trial, explore, and showcase Industry 4.0 technologies. The TestLab is co-funded by the Northern Territory Government and provides the research and workforce transformation to support the sustainability and growth of the Territory's aerospace and UAS sector. 

As a Lecturer in Engineering you will assist the TestLab Directors to deliver upon the research vision for the CDU-RMIT Industry 4.0 TestLab. You will coordinate and teach into the Diploma of Advanced Manufacturing, this newly created course will expose students to Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Cyber security technologies, computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing, Industry 4.0 fundamentals and project management. 

About You
To be successful, you will possess:

  • A PhD or post-graduate qualification in aeronautical engineering, electrical engineering, Applied digital technologies or advanced manufacturing
  • An emerging research profile of publications/research projects or a progress towards a research plan.
  • Demonstrated understanding of a university learning environment and equity programs and providing supportive education to people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds and varying age groups.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of units/courses and student resources in response to reflective practice and application of scholarship (including for online and face to face teaching) and within the context and requirements of a quality education provider.
  • Excellent professional teamwork and communication skills, including oral, written, information communication technology (ICT) and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent the university at a range of forums, and to liaise, communicate, negotiate and collaborate with clients, stakeholders and partners, to deliver a valued service and achieve agreed outcomes.

Appointment to this role will be at Research Active Academic Level A/B and the base salary will be in the range $68,536 to $123,161 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $80,187 to $144,098 per annum including 17% superannuation.
