Graduate Water Resources Engineer

WaterNSW is seeking a Graduate Water Resources Engineer to assist in the development, maintenance, and application of a strategic suite of water quality and quantity models for the Greater Sydney supply system. This project requires you to assist in the delivery of accessible water quality modelling solutions and advice for our customers to protect our catchment health, provide clean water and protect ecosystems using the best available science and engineering for the whole of NSW. The water quality modelling team is a virtual, agile team looking for innovative, driven individuals, ready to take up the task and deliver excellence in water quality modelling. The position is at a graduate level and will allow the successful candidate to develop skills in hydrologic/hydraulic data analysis, modelling, reporting, water quality and quantity science.

Please note: This is a 2 years term role reporting into Water Quality Modelling Manager

What we are looking for: 

  • Be in your final year of study or have graduated recently from a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil / Environmental) (or higher, such as  Master in Engineering (Water Resources) or PhD).
  • Understanding and working knowledge of the Microsoft online platforms and zoom (e.g. OneDrive, Sharepoint, Teams) and zoom.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be a self-starter
  • Ability to work in a fully virtual environment
  • An genuine interest in environmental issues, water resources and modelling

Desirable skills

  • Current NSW Drivers Licence 
  • eWater Source Modelling
  • Python coding
