Submarine Maritime Warfare Officer

Opportunity

As a Maritime Warfare Officer Submariner, manage the sensors and weapon systems of a Navy submarine while enjoying:

  • an excellent salary plus generous Super
  • ongoing investment in your personal and career development
  • free medical and dental
  • a good work/life balance
  • leadership and vocational training
  • subsidised accommodation
  • a supportive team environment
  • travel and leave entitlements
  • free access to sports and fitness facilities on base
  • friendships that last a lifetime

All that plus meaningful experiences such as joining peacekeeping missions and supporting communities in need.

Your role

Absolute silence surrounds you. Colleagues study their screens intently for the first signs of a simulated threat. A faint signal is received and the exercise intensifies. Orders are eagerly awaited and the fate of the submarine now rests in your hands.

It takes an inspirational leader to take responsibility for the control and safety of a Navy vessel, both at sea and in port. And it takes a special kind of resourcefulness to join the Deep Elite, living and working with a close-knit team in the unique environment of a Collins Class submarine.

That’s what's required of you as a Maritime Warfare Officer Submariner.

If you’re passionate about leading, this is a great career path to follow. You’ll learn how to navigate, run a watch and ‘drive’ the submarine you’re assigned to. In time you'll be in full command of the vessel during each watch you keep.

The expert training you receive will help you develop your management and leadership skills, equipping you to cope with the demands of the job; and you’ll have the satisfaction of working with the very latest systems and technology, much of which is akin to the space program.

In this challenging role you’ll be tested to your limits, but you’ll be one of a select few who get to wear the 'Dolphins'. A badge of distinction.

So do you think you have the qualities, ambition and resolve to become a Maritime Warfare Officer Submariner? Then apply now (below).
