Located in the northern rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.

The position

As a member of the Leadership Team this role will drive a positive culture that aligns with Rous’ values. It will directly contribute to the development and formation of organisational strategy and business planning and proactively coordinate and lead the Operations group to deliver timely and consistent high-quality service.

Qualifications and experience

This role requires a degree qualification in civil engineering or other related discipline supported by demonstrated experience in senior management roles in a local government or comparable complex environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical and civil systems relevant to the water supply industry with a knowledge of natural resource management principles and processes are essential for this position.

The successful candidate will have highly developed communication skills, the ability to present, consult and negotiate complex issues and experience in the leadership, management and supervision of staff.

Conditions of employment

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2020. Salary range $120,187.60 - $140,592.40 per annum based on skills and experience plus civil liability allowance, statutory superannuation (9.5%) and generous working conditions including a 70 hour, nine-day fortnight. A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
