The Dairy Foods team supports dairy processors and food manufacturers to develop new dairy-based, functional food ingredients, products and processes.

The Role

As the Dairy Processing Senior Scientist in this team, you will be responsible for leading scientific research and technology development for the dairy/food processing area. This is a unique role which will require you to speak the language of the dairy industry and your familiarity with dairy science and processing will enable you to lead and deliver projects which address key opportunities and challenges for the sector. This role sits within highly enthusiastic multi-disciplinary teams delivering scientific excellence across the industry.

Responsibilities Include

• Identifying opportunities and converting them into successful and sustainable R&D projects
• Plan, conduct and coordinate research projects and deliver high quality research outputs
• Network and build relationships with industry stakeholders
• Gain a greater understanding of the challenges faced within the dairy/food industry

You Will Have

• Relevant PhD degree in food science or process engineering and relevant practical experience
• Previous experience/knowledge working with dairy/food industry (R7-R8)
• Expertise in dairy processing, familiarity with commercial plant operations
• Excellent communication and leadership qualities
