As a Directory Services Engineer, you will be a critical member of the team responsible for managing and maintaining our company's intricate Directory Services, Domain Name Services (DNS), and Certificate Management environments. Your technical experience in all aspects of Directory Services, DNS, and Certificate Management will be instrumental in establishing and enforcing standards for our systems, ensuring that support teams comply with these guidelines and deliver optimal performance.

You will take ownership of ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and best practice management of these systems. Your hands-on support and technical guidance to the team will help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our Directory Services, DNS, and Certificate Management infrastructure. Your existing expertise in these areas will be leveraged to ensure the systems operate at peak performance.

Your duties will include:

  • Manage implementation of technical deliverables of DSE aligned projects
  • Provide guidance to projects regarding technical activities, scheduling, and resource requirements
  • Manage lifecycle management and service improvement activities across all DSE Services
  • Manage the delivery and develop the capabilities of the team. These services include the AD Domain Controllers, AD Federation Services, AD certificate services, DHCP/DNS on Windows and Linux and the maintenance of IPAM (IP Asset Management System)
  • Help customers realize business value and increase their security posture as they transition to a zero-trust model of being able to access any app and service from anywhere in a secure and governed way.

Location: All CSIRO Sites (except Geelong)
Salary: AU$89,680k - AU$101,459k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

Essential:

  1. 3+ years experience supporting and implementing the technologies at an enterprise scale. CSIRO operate the technologies below:
    1. Active Directory Domain Services
    2. DHCP/DNS on Windows and Linux
    3. PowerShell scripting and automation languages
    4. Certificate Services
  2. Demonstrated experience utilising automation for maintaining and administering the above technologies.   
  3. Demonstrated ability in providing technical advice to the team, clients and management.
  4. Demonstrated ability in coaching and mentoring of junior staff. 

Desirable:

  1. 3+ years experience supporting and implementing the technologies at an enterprise scale. CSIRO operate the technologies below:
    1. Programming in PHP, Python
    2. Windows and Linux Server Maintenance
