CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship-Next Generation Wound-Healing Devices Enabled by Machine Learning
CSIRO Early Research Career (CERC) Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to scientists and engineers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral work experience. These fellowships aim to develop the next generation of future leaders of the innovation system.
Implantable medical devices suffer from adverse tissue responses and infection leading to a significant health risk for patients. This project will employ machine-learning to discover dual-action antimicrobial peptides that promote wound-healing for use in biomaterials to prevent infection and accelerate wound recovery.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will work on peptide synthesis, bacterial assay workflows and methods for peptide incorporation into biomaterials. This position is aligned with CSIRO’s Infectious Disease Resilience (IDR) Mission which supports national and global efforts to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from, the threat of infectious diseases.
