Facilities Advisor, CSIRO Business and Infrastructure Services

The position:

As the Facilities Advisor with CSIRO Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS), you will carry out general day-to-day facility operations and assist in the management of maintenance, repairs and general facility services across the specific sites of responsibility. The scope of your work will include “hard services” such as Building and Equipment repairs and maintenance related work and “Soft Services” such as Cleaning, Security, Waste Management and Grounds Maintenance.

In this key role, you will have out of hours and call-out responsibilities covering all sites within the designated area and you will need to be able to access all equipment in all locations within the respective sites in the Region.

Specifically you will:

  • Maintain effective day-to-day relationships with all on-site stakeholders
  • Develop, manage and monitor facility operational and maintenance plans and budgets, and participate in annual reviews of site facilities and services.
  • Supervise and administer daily property services works and ensure compliance with CSIRO policies and procedures.
  • Identify and implement corrective maintenance action as required and project manage minor works and planned maintenance.
  • Plan, manage and report on site ‘soft’ services.
  • Manage day-to-day resources and participate in the evaluation and planning of site alterations or developments.

Location:      Black Mountain (Canberra) Australian Capital Territory
Salary:
          AU $80k to AU $91k per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation

As a minimum requirement, you will hold relevant trade and/or tertiary qualifications and have proven related experience in Building, Engineering and/or Facility & Services Management. You will also have:

  • Current Australian ‘C’ class driver’s licence and the ability to work across all sites in the Region.
  • Proven interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the delivery of both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ facility management services.
  • The ability to work under limited direction, accept responsibility and direction, and be accountable for on-site service provision.
  • Good knowledge of relevant protocols and statutory requirements associated with Government building and services codes and regulations, including HSE.
