DevOps Engineer

The Position

CSIRO’s Data61 is seeking to appoint a talented DevOps Engineer for the Data Science Platforms team.

In this position you will play a key role in developing and delivering the next generation of machine learning software. This role has a lot of freedom to design and implement the development and deployment strategies around a large scale data platform. The team is currently developing graph analytics software to ingest, analyse and visualise linked network data with real impact for Australia.

In this role you will be encouraged to experiment with new technologies, learn new techniques and skills, and apply them to your work.

Security Clearance:
This is a security assessed position and successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance. To obtain an Australian Government security clearance you must be an Australian Citizen. Applicants seeking sponsorship or who only hold residency status will not be considered.

Location:      Negotiable (Eveleigh, NSW or Canberra, ACT preferred)
Salary:          AU $109K - AU $128K plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure:         Specified term of 3 years

To be successful you will need:

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline such as Computer Science or a similar technical field.
  • Experience with networking, system administration or software engineering
  • Scripting experience with Python, Ruby, Go, Bash or Perl
  • Experience with containerised environments e.g. VMs, Docker, Kubernetes, Rocket
  • The ability to collaborate and grow with a multi-disciplinary, regionally dispersed research and engineering team.
