Research Scientist in X-ray Analysis

The Position

CSIRO Mineral Resources is seeking a person to work within The Sensing and Sorting Program (SAS).

You as the successful applicant will use your experience in both theoretical and experimental X-ray analysis to conduct innovative research on X-ray systems under development by SAS.  These systems will be used for analysis in the mining and minerals processing applications.

As a part of the role you will liaise with research collaborators and industry clients; as well as supervise students who are completing their Honours or PhD studies with CSIRO.

Location:       Lucas Heights, Sydney

Salary:           $92K - $100K plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure:          Indefinite

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated research experience in design of X-ray systems
  • Demonstrating skills in developing and using theoretical models for the modelling of X-ray systems
  • Experience with problem solving in analysis using radiation and related engineering problems
