Integration Software Engineer

Data61 are looking for an Integration Software Engineer to develop software solutions for robotic and automated systems platforms within the Cyber Physical Systems program. The position plays a critical role within this multi-skilled and highly motivated Robotics and Automated Systems software team. The role offers highly rewarding work with research scientists and engineers working on world leading research and robotics systems. 

Your duties will include

  • Developing high-quality software solutions
  • Developing software modules to connect and integrate robotics systems
  • Collaborating with researchers to achieve research project outcomes
  • Investigating, diagnosing and debugging technical issues in order to identify viable solutions
  • Following appropriate processes and procedures for managing client issues and identifying process improvements
  • Participating in project planning and scheduling based on client needs, including allocating and directing tasks where appropriate.

Location: Pullenvale, QLD
Salary: AU$82K - AU$93K plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified Term of 2 years

To be successful you will need

Essential

  • A relevant diploma/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in software engineering
  • 2+ years software development experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

Desirable

  • Experience with Linux based operating systems
  • Real-time software development experience
  • Understanding of ROS - Robots Operating System
  • Knowledge of various communication protocols
  • Machine vision and image processing experience
  • Background in DevOps and Docker deployment
