The School of Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering provides a range of higher education programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There are over 117 postgraduate students enrolled in research programs. The postgraduate research programs cover Masters of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy in a range of new and developing fields. Much of the research activity is linked with industry with a broad range of research interests generally under the themes of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Water Engineering, Rheology and Material Processing Engineering.

The School has over 1380 students enrolled in undergraduate programs leading to degrees in Civil & Infrastructure Engineering, Civil & Infrastructure Engineering/Business Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Chemical Engineering/Business Management.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Head of School, the Associate Professor in Environmental Engineering will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, in particular in the field of Environmental Engineering. The Associate Professor will be responsible for providing research leadership in one of the areas of Environmental Engineering which will include engagement with the relevant industry stakeholders, attracting competitive grants, publications in high impact journals and effective supervision of postgraduate research students and postdoctoral research staff. The position will assist the school in maintaining teaching and learning excellence and developing new programs for on-shore and off-shore delivery.

To be considered for this opportunity you will have demonstrated experience and initiative in teaching innovation and excellence including developing new teaching programs, especially course work masters programs and off shore programs. You will have a proven track record of attracting competitive research grants and demonstrated ability in academic administration such as program leadership and research team leadership.

In addition, you will hold a PhD in a related field and possess an excellent record of academic and/or professional achievement in one of the Environmental Engineering fields. You will have an extensive publication track record in one of the fields of Environmental Engineering, in particular in high impact journals.
