THE ROLE
With the recent expansion of our Brisbane based projects, we are seeking to appoint an Environmental Advisor to join our Utilities business on a significant capital works programme.
The role will see you working closely with senior management and project teams. The role will report to the HSEQ Manager and be supported by a well-established senior project team. You will be responsible for driving Environmental Management processes to provide the best possible outcomes for both our client and sub-contractors.
The role will be to pass on your industry experience onto others within the team and mentor upcoming staff over the 6 year contract lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include
- Provide support and advice to the entire program of works in regards to the Environmental aspects including development of project plans and implementing procedures
- Provides support and advice regarding relevant legislation and site permitting requirements
- Provide support, advice and guidance to Management in relation to environmental concerns and issues.
- Conduct environmental assessments, site visits and audits to assess environmental performance and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure accurate records of environmental aspects are developed and maintained by the workplace
- Reports incidents, non-conformances and near misses and participate in incident investigations when required
- Undertake Environmental reporting as required (monthly reports, permit requirements etc)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
You will be a methodical individual with a high attention for detail. You will be able to work both autonomously on our project, and as a solution’s focussed member of project delivery team.
You will need;
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role ideally gained within Construction and or Utilities
- Sound working knowledge and understanding of statutory environmental legislation
- Tertiary qualifications in Environment / Degree
- Ability to develop, nurture and maintain sound relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed planning, organisational and time management skills
- Strong systems background.
