National Operations Manager - Large Scale PV

Service Stream’s In-Home Services business is part of the Energy and Water division and focuses on the installation of innovative energy saving solutions.  Large Scale PV installation is experiencing rapid growth across the nation and the role offers the successful incumbent the opportunity to make their mark in this exciting new market.

Contributing to Energy and Water’s overall financial success, the National Operations Manager - Large Scale PV will be responsible for building market position across the country by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and completing large scale solar PV projects.

This will be achieved by ensuring the following areas responsibilities are met by the successful incumbent:

Business Development

• Identification of new business opportunities.
• Building strong client and supplier relationships.
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of trends in the Large Scale PV market.
• Accurate pricing and tendering to win profitable projects.

Operational and Financial Management

• Establishing, maintaining and improving customer relationships and reporting requirements.
• Determining priorities and schedules for others to achieve work objectives.
• Mitigating barriers to achievement of operational goals.
• Analysing operational processes and policies and where appropriate proposing and implementing changes to improve operational effectiveness.
• Developing clearly justified business cases and/or plans including analysing medium-term impacts and risks.
• Utilising analysis of financial data to contribute to goals and targets for function.
• Monitoring and implementing reporting requirements to meet business and performance improvement requirements.

Team Management and Leadership

• Working with employees to set and communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable.
• Providing specific performance feedback, both positive and corrective, as soon as possible after an event.
• Dealing firmly and promptly with performance problems; lets people know what is expected of them and when.

A qualification as an electrical engineer or electrician is a must and the successful candidate should be CEC accredited with stand-alone experience.

In addition, extensive experience within the large scale PV installation market (50kw +) is essential, as well as system design, product sourcing, supply and install pricing of large scale PV projects. The successful candidate will be a confident and capable Project Manager, with a proven background identifying business development opportunities and maximising contract profitability.
