What you'll be doing

The ISLHD Cancer Division provides radiation oncology, medical oncology and haematology services to patients at cancer centres in Wollongong, Shoalhaven and Milton.

The Cancer Division IT team provides support services to a diverse range of Cancer Division users distributed over this large geographic area.

The Oncology Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for management, strategic development and support of IT infrastructure and systems for the Cancer Division.

The IT infrastructure includes Nutanix and VMWare servers as well as SANS and 350+ PCs and associated peripherals. This infrastructure hosts the oncology electronic medical record system (MOSAIQ by Elekta) and multiple other applications used by ISLHD Cancer Division.   
 
The position will manage the Oncology IT Technical Support Officer.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in a large complex organisation.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation, management and support of server infrastructure, virtualisation services, Microsoft Active Directory Services, Citrix, SQL Server, SAN.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of information security best practices.
  4. Proven experience in the understanding of incident management, problem management, change management, issue management and service level management.
  5. Recent and relevant experience in the delivery of technology solutions with proven evidence of effectively managing change.
  6. Demonstrated conceptual and innovative problem solving skills for managing conflicting priorities and developing, implementing and monitoring recommendations and advice on policies, strategies and solutions across complex areas
  7. Ability to provide verbal and written advice to management on policies, strategies and solutions.
  8. Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and written skills and demonstrated ability to consult, influence and negotiate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
