We're seeking a Senior Project Manager.

The Senior Project Manager is primarily responsible for assisting the Program Controller in the delivery of the Capital Works Program with an emphasis on the management of design and construction contracts for the construction of water and wastewater assets. The position has two cyclical functions: the first in a “Business as Usual” mode in fostering relationships with key stakeholders and customers and ensuring that the group maintains a positive image in the market; the second is providing technical support to the program controller and project managers in Infrastructure Delivery throughout design, construction, commissioning and defects rectification phases of the project.

This is a full-time, permanent role that will attract a generous salary package.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant Engineering qualifications (Degree/Diploma) or equivalent qualifications
  • Construction Induction card
  • Demonstrated engineering experience in industrial maintenance in the delivery of network, treatment assets
  • Project management experience
  • Construction experience
  • Design and Design Review experience
  • Experience in project management of contractors / consultants
  • Demonstrated undertaking of safety management procedures including Safe Work Method Statements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering standards and processes relevant to supply, installation, operation and maintenance of water/wastewater assets
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • A knowledge of and commitment to continuous improvement
  • High-level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines
  • Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus and desire to resolve customer issues
  • Continual improvements focus and promotes high work standards.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in the delivery of hazardous chemical system assets and demolition of asbestos contaminated assets
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design guidelines and practices for water infrastructure
  • Specialised skills in a statutory based asset installation or maintenance, such as hazardous chemicals, cranes or pressure systems etc.
