About the opportunity 

The Australian Centre for Field Robotics (ACFR) has established major research projects with various industry groups and the position has responsibility for provision of technical support activities for these projects.

In this position, you will:

  • develop software in C++, bash and/or python
  • develop software applications and libraries using source control and testing facilities using agile methodologies
  • work with academic staff to integrate research ideas into real-time systems
  • write and provide software and user documentation.

About you

  • degree in Computer, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent) or extensive relevant experience
  • exceptional skills and at least 3 years’ experience in C++ software development
  • ability with a  Linux operating system
  • hands-on experience in all phases of software process including the design, development, testing and maintenance of software
  • ability to write reliable and maintainable code
  • thorough understanding of object oriented design.
