As our new Lead level Water Engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the team who are tackling and managing challenging water projects across a project lifecycle, with strong focus on planning, strategizing, options development, design and construction support. Some of the key Clients that you will have the opportunity to work with include some of WA’s largest Resource Clients, National Government Agencies and Water Authorities, among others. Your role will include:

  • In association with the Technical Director, being responsible for the planning, design and implementation of complex engineering solutions to meet client needs. Understanding of Client problems through interpretation of scope, and effectively communicating solutions and options to the Client in simple terms through a variety of channels.
  • Recommending for approval final design submittals including basis of design, technical specifications, plans layouts, schematics and detail design, and providing expert guidance for creative and innovative, safe design solutions. Leading safe and sustainable design initiatives and supports compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Working closely with the Project Manager to manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring efficient delivery, and dealing with complex environments and risk.
  • Setting and meeting client service expectations and delivering value to the client in area of specialisation. Developing deep insight into the client business and shares this knowledge with colleagues.
  • Scoping and converting additional work with existing clients and identifying opportunities with new clients. Actively contributes to client relationship building activities and winning work.
  • Provision of mentoring and support to emerging professionals in the team. You will be supported in developing your own leadership capability and technical eminence through our leadership programs, connection with other Engineers in the ANZ Water Practice and mentoring and advice from our respected Design Directors, Expertise and Practice Leaders.

What are we looking for from you?

We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life. As well as experience in a relevant engineering role, specifically you will:

  • Share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future.
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering
  • Have extensive experience (10-15 years) in the relevant field of expertise. 
  • Experience in delivery of detailed design is highly desirable. Experience in working with or for Resource Clients, or Water Authority type Clients.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen, driving sustainable business, financial and project performance.
  • Showcase your strong internal and external stakeholder management experience, a can-do attitude and importantly a strong team player who works well in an agile and collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrates deep industry knowledge and expertise in area of specialism; deepening experience in dealing with complex technical issues. Understands client’s business outcomes when problem solving.
