In this position you will join our Water team, where you will play an integral part as a Technical Director, Dams, among a group of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our local and wider clients in the Energy, Resources and Water sectors. You will be involved with all aspects of dam projects, from project conception through to their safe operation and management.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • Providing a wealth of experience and hands-on technical leadership, to grow the Dams Teams’ technical capability by motivating, coordinating and mentoring staff, as well as participating and contributing at industry technical events and conferences.
  • Advise our clients over the full asset life cycle, covering site investigations, feasibility studies, design and analyses, construction support, operation, as well as the development and implementation of dam safety management systems, including dam surveillance, safety reviews and risk assessments.
  • Providing leadership in building and maintaining relationships with our industry clients, from business development and securing a sustainable pipeline of work, through to proposal preparation and managing the financial and technical aspects in the delivery of small to large scale projects.
  • Have well-developed and strong communication and technical report writing skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to a diverse range of clients.
  • Working collaboratively across the business and with local and national clients, bringing diverse skillsets together through national and international work-sharing, and innovation to complex problems to successfully deliver projects.
  • Industry recognition and profile in the field of dams and membership of professional bodies related to dams

What We Are Looking For

  • A relevant engineering qualification, with dam industry experience and an understanding of ANCOLD and state-based guidelines and regulatory practices considered essential.
  • Strong dams engineering background, with a deep understanding of the dams geotechnical, structural and hydraulic engineering aspects, as well as dam safety management and risk assessment practices.
  • Chartered Professional Civil Engineer qualification and be at least on the path to becoming a Registered Engineer in your state or territory
