Salary: $85,452.02 - $94,021.83 (Grade 16) p. a. + 3.5% civil liability + 9.5% superannuation.

Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive local government organisation committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Sustainable Transport Engineer to join the Integrated Transport team. 
 
The Sustainable Transport Engineer will be responsible for identifying key sustainable transport issues in the Randwick City Council area and developing, reviewing, updating and implementing priority programs to assist in addressing these issues. The role is also responsible for actively promoting and educating the community and Council on sustainable transport issues and opportunities. 
 
Extensive experience in sustainable transport engineering would be desirable but not essential for this varied and autonomous role. However, to be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following essential criteria:
 
  • Tertiary degree in Civil Engineering or a transport related discipline or equivalent extensive experience. 
  • Class C driver’s licence. 
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of relevant RMS manuals and guidelines, Motor Traffic Act/ Regulations, Roads Act 1993, Austroads guidelines and Australian Standards, or similar. 
  • Knowledge and experience in sustainable transport engineering and management; especially with a focus on sustainable transport. 
  • Demonstrated ability to research, develop, coordinate, manage and implement a wide range of projects within deadlines. 
  • High level interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with demonstrated commitment to providing high quality customer service and an ability to communicate and consult effectively with people at all levels. 
  • Knowledge and commitment to EEO and WH&S principles and the principles for a culturally diverse workplace and society. 
  • Commitment to ethics, probity and transparency in decision making.
