Job description:

We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Traction Power Commissioning Engineer to join our Traction Power Operational Engineering team in Brisbane.

This role will plan, coordinate and manage Overhead Line Equipment (OHLE) construction and maintenance works including inspections and audits.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform inspections of overhead lines equipment to ensure compliance with safety and completeness of the specified works as per in line with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor and report on quality assurance procedures and perform audits and initiate corrective action to achieve the specified quality in the completed works.
  • Identify and report risks and issues associated with safety, environment, quality, and progress of works. Initiate and maintain on-site liaison and relationships with internal business areas and various other authorities that are involved with the contract works
  • Maintain records of all contract works including weekly reporting, quality assurance documentation and specific technical records
  • Provide technical and on-call support for the reliable operation of the traction network, including electrical safety advice and safety clarification advice to assist with project access and planning.

We are seeking interest from people who have:

  • Knowledge of traction systems, equipment, construction and testing standards
  • Sound knowledge of traction safe working principles, practices and procedures, including testing, commissioning practices and procedures and traction alteration design.
  • Skill in interpreting and extracting data from OH engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of overhead line equipment standards and practices.
  • Bachelor of Engineering - Electrical

Annual base salary range of $99,193 - $105,694 + Superannuation and access to QR's employee benefits
