We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer to join our team in the Learning, Teaching and Student Engagement Directorate. The position is full time, fixed term for 12 months and is open to applicants across Australia as a remote work opportunity.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
You’ll enjoy the diversity of the role with a combination of providing analytical and development expertise to systems enhancement projects, working with the Learning Systems Administrator to contribute to tier 3 systems level operational support for LearnJCU (including all integrations and 3rd party products) as well as providing high quality advice to all system users and stakeholders in support of the business.

Collaboration is a big component of the role particularly with internal IT staff and vendors. It will be a rewarding experience working in a cross-skilled team consisting of Software Engineers, Systems Specialists, Educational Designers and a UX Designer to produce system enhancements that foster best practice educational experiences.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
You will possess robust software engineering fundamentals and be passionate about software development. It is essential to bring a minimum of four years relevant experience and have fluency in best practices for device-based information architecture and development, as well as deep technical knowledge of programming languages, principles and techniques (e.g. Python, Go, Web services, JS, Bootstrap frameworks, RESTful APIs etc.).

As someone who is a keen and resourceful problem solver this will enable you to effectively resolve complex analytical issues. Familiarity working with Agile methodologies and project management skills will enable you to thrive in implementing solutions that address the business needs and meet client expectations.
