Construction and engineering consultancy company Sinclair Knight Merz has joined the ranks of the world’s top 100 architectural firms following the release of the 2013 World Architecture Top 100 rankings.

SKM was ranked equal 83rd, alongside US firm PagesoutherlandPage, while also ranking seventh in “regional highest earners” for Australasia.

In addition, SKM placed in the top 10 globally for construction management, engineering, environment, facilities management and surveying.

Dr Michael Shirley, SKM’s General Manager Buildings and Infrastructure said, “SKM’s architectural profile has been boosted over the last few years following our merger with architectural firm S2F. As the scope and complexity of projects grow the combined skills of the two firms has enabled us to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions for clients in the transport, social infrastructure and defence sectors.”

The list is compiled by UK-based Building Design magazine and is based on an annual survey of global architecture practices conducted by UK communications agency, Camargue. The most recent survey was conducted in October 2012.
