The Queensland Government’s Supporting Women Scholarships are now open for women wanting to study in male dominated fields.

 

Scholarships for women wishing to in fields such as agricultural science, building services, engineering and geological science are available.

 

The funding forms part of the Government’s ongoing attempt to fill skills shortages in resources, construction and agriculture industries, which is describes as being ‘part of Queensland’s four pillars.’

 

There are a range of study options available, from Certificates, Diplomas and Bachelor Degrees, to Masters. Funding covers the duration of the study and is valued at $5 000 per annum for full time study and $2 500 per annum for part time study.

 

Applications must be submitted by close of business Friday 12 October, and applicants must be beginning study in 2013.
