Nace Civil Engineering has been named as the contractor to conduct the $62 million Princes Highway upgrade in New South Wales’ south-east.

The upgrade at South Norwa will see large sections of the Princes Highway expanded to four lanes and is aimed at improving traffic flow for motorists travelling between the Kinghorne and Forest Road area.

“Travel times will also improve when the latest upgrade is connected to the previous Princes Highway improvements between Forest Road and Jervis Bay Road which opened to traffic in 2008,” Member for South Coast Shelly Hancock said.

"Pedestrians and cyclists will also benefit from the upgrade. A 2.5 metre wide off-road shared footpath/cycleway on the eastern side of the Princes Highway between McKay Street and Warra Warra Road and an on-road cycle facility south of Warra Warra Road also will be provided," she said.

Preliminary work to relocate utilities started earlier this year. It is expected major work will start later this year and take about two years to complete.
