The Position

We are looking for a proactive engineering professional to lead a small team that undertakes engineering assessments and the supervision of developments across the City. The Development Engineering team have a key role in supporting the Statutory Planning, Building and Strategic Planning teams within the City by providing prompt informative advice. This will require involvement in significant regional planning strategies, and providing a broad range of technical engineering advice to projects.

Key areas of accountability for this position will include;

  • Provide team members and management with high quality technical advice and professional support to resolve issues;
  • Monitor and review the City's development engineering processes, and develop and implement improvements in partnership with stakeholders; and
  • Lead the team to drive delivery of outcomes, and enhance the overall performance of this team through strong leadership and building team capabilities.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria;

  • Possession of a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent tertiary qualification;
  • At least two years' experience in a supervisor/leadership role; and
  • In depth skills and knowledge in civil engineering within local government or a similar environment, with a strong understanding of development engineering, including the supervision of developments, setting and enforcing conditions, legislation and standards, and finding creative solutions to development problems.

Salary: $102,625 - $115,401 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus superannuation.
