The Position

This is an exciting position to assist the City's Project Architect with helping to shape the design, construction and refurbishment of buildings across the City of Canning. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a professional team that strives to deliver exceptional service and management of projects.

Key areas of accountability for this position will include;

• Liaison with Clients and key stakeholders to prepare project briefs;
• Leading and/or working with a Project team;
• Commissioning, directing, and coordinating professional consultants for the design, documentation and contract administration of works;
• Preparing detailed programmes for implementing works within critical time frames, identified priorities and available budgets;
• Efficient project management of works ensuring that projects are constructed in accordance with the contract documents;
• Preparing project budgets and managing, monitoring and reporting on contract expenditure;
• Coordinate and/or prepare the conceptual design, working drawings, specifications, costs, quantities and construction documents where, and to the extent,  these are required to be carried out in-house; and
• Coordinate and/or prepare drawings and other documentation as necessary to help coordinate and manage Council assets including properties, buildings and associated services.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following essential criteria;

• Possession of a tertiary qualification in architecture, construction, project management or similar, aligned professional discipline in the field of building construction;

• Significant experience in the practice of architecture, construction, project management or similar, ideally in a Local Government environment; and

• Demonstrated skills and proficiency in Autocad or similar drafting software.

Salary: $92,996 - $104,498 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications plus Superannuation.
